This article sort of highlights why competition with Microsoft is so important. They would never do something like this in a million years had it not been for Google’s encroachment (albeit minor) on their Office territory. Microsoft has to be dragged kicking and screaming into doing the right thing. Sadly, it’s why I will always avoid using Microsoft products to do anything. I’m confident that if that competition were to wither away, Microsoft would quickly slip back into their old ways. I guess that’s called lack of trust.
